For Suzie

This quilt is a tribute to mid-century artist Suzie Zuzek, the most prolific surface designer behind the original Lilly Pulizer prints.  It contains both suspected and known vintage prints from the era.

I thought of the orange grove as a metaphor for Zuzek and her team.  The center sun is my nod to Zuzek’s particular style, and the thin blue line references Key West, Florida, where she created.
