(Anticipation of) The passage of pain

I hesitated to name this quilt, given that its title will mean so many different things to different people.  However, this quilt was pieced in a period of physical pain, and when I stepped back it was very obvious what was manifested.  This began in a class with Jacquie Gering, and over the course of a year and a half took shape through many different ideas as you can see below.  Machine pieced and quilted.  Blue circle is appliqued.

The very early stages of this quilt began in Gehring’s class

The walking foot quilting extends the pieced lines “invisibly” to the edges.  The background fabric is a very dark blue/green batik.
